This 'design for social change' campaign is meant to raise awareness about the harm of littering cigarette butts, something millions of smokers do everyday without realizing the dangerous effects it has on our environment and on us. Smokers hardly respond to serious ads since they are overused. These graphic posters are light-hearted and playful but still informative of some of the shocking statistics regarding cigarette butt litter.
The posters were hung outside Parsons the New School for Design in New York City and were noticed by students smoking outside. Instead of littering, they disposed of their cigarette butts properly.
