Citizens of the World
Tunics inspired by powerful stories of immigrants.

Concept
Moving to a new unfamiliar place is really hard. Acclimating to a new environment can be even harder. The mission of Citizens of the World is to create a platform that gives newcomers the opportunity to share and spread their story as a way of connecting with their new home while also staying in touch with their roots.
Process
The stories are illustrated and printed onto fabric that is then made into a versatile tunic. They are integral to the creation of the pieces. Ultimately, we aim to increase compassion and understanding amongst each other by sharing experiences and using the lens of textile and apparel design to do that.

Why sharing stories with each other is important and effective.

One of the biggest struggles for immigrants is finding the balance between preserving their home and acclimating to a new place.
Citizens of the World aims to provide immigrants with the outlet to share their story, stay connected to home, and bring a bit of their own culture into a new place.
